Privacy

What this website does with your details.

Short version: the contact form emails us and nothing else. We do not set cookies, we do not track you around the internet, and we do not sell anything to anybody.

Who we are

Tails In The City is the trading name of Tails In The City Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under number 08997694. Our registered office is 11b Percy Street, Liverpool L8 7LT. The daycare itself is at Caryl Street, Liverpool L8 5SY.

In data protection terms we are the data controller for this website, which means we decide what gets collected here and what happens to it afterwards.

What this policy covers

This page covers this website only.

Our booking system is a separate service on its own address, and our Facebook and Instagram pages are run by those companies. They each have their own privacy terms, and this policy does not speak for them.

When you send us a message

The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. Your dog's name and a subject line are optional, and you can leave them blank.

Nothing is saved to a database on this website. Your message is sent to us as an ordinary email and lands in the same inbox as everything else. Your email address is attached as the reply address, so we can write straight back to you.

Please do not put anything sensitive in the form. If there is something private you need us to know about you or your dog, ring us and tell us on the phone instead.

While you are reading the site

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages get read. It is deliberately basic. It sets no cookies and it cannot follow you to other websites.

  • Which page you looked at
  • The site you arrived from, if any
  • Rough location, no closer than the town or city
  • Your browser, operating system, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer
  • The date and time

None of that identifies you, and there is no way for us to work backwards from it to a person.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner asking you to agree to something.

There is one video, on the About page. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play. When you do, it loads through youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set advertising cookies. If you never press play, YouTube gets nothing from your visit.

Why we are allowed to hold it

UK data protection law says we need a proper reason. Ours is legitimate interests: you have asked us a question and we need to be able to answer it, and we need a rough sense of whether the website is doing its job.

If you would rather we did not, say so and we will stop.

Who else sees it

Two suppliers help us run this website. Neither of them uses your details for anything of their own.

  • Vercel, which hosts the website and provides the visitor numbers described above
  • Resend, which delivers the contact form email to our inbox

We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone for marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you properly, and for as long as you are a customer if you become one. We do not keep them for the sake of it.

What you can ask us to do

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or tell us to stop using it. Email or ring and we will sort it out. It costs nothing and we will come back to you inside a month.

If you are not happy

Tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are still unhappy you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for this, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this page

If we change what the website does with your details, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.

Getting hold of us

About anything on this page, or about your details generally:

Rather just talk?

Ring us and ask.

If there is something here you would rather go through on the phone, give us a ring during daycare hours.
